Schedule

Wed Aug 19Travel day. Crew flies in, gear checked and built, van collected. Overnight in the citytravel
Thu Aug 20Shoot day. 10:30 AM crew call at Malbon SoHo through 7:00 PM wrap at Southampton. One 12 hour day. Overnight in the Hamptonsshoot
Fri Aug 21Travel day. Crew out. Post beginstravel
why the overnight splits

The day starts in Manhattan and ends 95 miles east. Staying in the Hamptons on the 19th would mean driving 2.5 hours into the city at rush hour to make a 10:30 call. Staying in the city on the 20th would mean a 2.5 hour drive after a twelve hour day.

So it splits: city the night before, Hamptons the night of.

02 // crew

Who’s on it

four on the ground. everybody shoots.
Producer / DirectorMarcus Murphy. Runs the day, directs, client and talent contact on the ground
DP + PhotographyJustin Soto. Shoots the Gap stills list and the film. Doubling both roles rather than adding a fifth body. Covers the store, then rides one jitney
Camera + Lead EditorJoe Huynh. Second camera, drone operator, and cutting live on site so assets move the same day
Third shooterJustin’s regular. Shoots, wrangles and compresses media, runs ahead in the van

Marcus, Joe, and the third shooter run ahead to the venue for details and drone. Justin covers the store and takes one jitney, agreed on the production call to hold our footprint to a single seat. All four converge from the 4pm arrival through wrap.

where the savings are

Justin covering both DP and photography removes a fifth crew member, along with their flight, bed, and day rate.

Photographer rate discounted. Camera, sound, media, and the edit station all absorbed on our side.

Production and payroll handling fee cut from our standard 20% down to 10%.

EP/CD travel and crew wardrobe absorbed, roughly $1,300 carried on our side.

revised · v2, august 18

Down from $17,899.20 to $15,853.90. Three changes, all real, none of which touch the crew, the shoot, or what lands on the day.

Post production reduced. Story content is now captured in partnership with the Malbon and Gap internal teams through the day. That means we are assembling and finishing story cuts rather than originating all of them, which is a genuine change in scope rather than a discount.

EP/CD travel absorbed. Marcus covers his own flight and room.

Crew wardrobe removed. Malbon is dressing the team.
